A Land in Constant Crisis
Israel sits at a crossroads of faith, conflict, and unmet spiritual need. Political tension runs deep. Trauma is widespread. Tragically, most people there have never heard the Gospel in a way that has felt personal or accessible. The roots of our Biblical heritage run deep here, yet the Church has largely abandoned the direct descendants of our spiritual forefathers.
Deep spiritual need
99% of Israelis do not know Yeshua (the Hebrew name for Jesus) as their Messiah. God's chosen people need the Gospel presented to them in a clear and culturally appropriate approach.
Real conflict
Our missionaries and their families have lived through ballistic missile, rocket and drone attacks, slept in bomb shelters, mourned with neighbors, served in the armed forces and reserves, and continue their work every day. Because eternity matters more than life.
Widespread Trauma
Generations of war and fear have left visible wounds that require genuine care. It is estimated that 30% of the entire country's population is suffering with post-traumatic stress.
Reaching Israelis with Good News
Although the Gospel is accessible in Israel, there are complex cultural barriers and widespread lies that create obstacles for the majority of the population. It can be a process to confront the narratives and stigma that surround becoming a believer. It is common for Israelis to explore the internet anonymously to learn about the Messiah and what it means to follow Him before interacting personally and risking what could cost them their jobs, relationships or lives.
Meeting Practical Needs on the Ground
Our humanitarian aid in Israel goes to exceptional lengths to help people thrive amidst violence. We provide soldiers with hot meals and supply them with core needs from socks and sleeping bags to tents and helmets. Our ministry teams and congregational partners open up their bomb shelters to community members, at times hosting day camps so that a parent in the community can go to work - because school is out of session and the other parent has been called up for the armed forces reserves for hundreds of days at a time. Others serve the elderly in senior homes, and provide meals for the forgotten survivors of the Holocaust. They display God's love to needy families, acting as the hands and feet of Yeshua in everyday life.
Healing Wounds War Leaves Behind
Our trauma care in Israel is focused on helping congregational and community leaders heal from their personal trauma, the trauma of living in a war torn country, and the vicarious trauma of serving others in trauma. These leaders minister every day to soldiers and their families. Some are soldiers themselves, called back up to serve with the Israeli Defense Forces to protect their nation. We partner with trained caregivers and missions partners that can care for these leaders so that they in turn can continue caring for others. We cannot expect healthy growth in the ministry without healthy leadership.
People Who Chose to Stay
Our missionaries in Israel are not visitors. They have built their lives there, formed relationships within community, and remained through some of the most difficult seasons the country has faced. They are part of a Messianic congregation that disciples Israeli and Arab Christians and serve all of those in their surrounding community. Get to know them and the heart behind their work.
