Trauma Blocks hope
When someone has experienced violence, loss, or chronic instability, their nervous system locks into survival mode. Across Haiti, Israel, Mexico and South Asia, we see this reality every day and often these internal wounds make it difficult for people to connect, have hope or move forward. We address trauma because whole people are better able to embrace truth and enact lasting change.
It Fractures Communities
Decades of political collapse, gang violence, and natural disaster have left communities fractured. When trauma goes untreated, neighbors stop trusting each other and families stop functioning.
It Damages the Soul
A person living in survival mode has difficulty internalizing spiritual truth. Emotional trauma reduces capacity to trust in others and erodes faith.
It Outlasts the Crisis
Physical dangers may pass but deep inside, the scars remain. Survivors need our ongoing support to achieve emotional and spiritual restoration.
It Passes to the Next Generation
Those who grow up amid poverty and violence carry wounds they didn't choose, yet are shaped by their experiences. It takes intentionality to break the trauma cycle.
How We Approach Trauma Care
Helping Children
In our work with Haitian children, we use Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). This is a therapeutic model designed to help children who have experienced hard beginnings. It focuses on healing through relationship, addressing the needs that trauma leaves behind.
Helping the Helpers
In the Middle East, our work is focused on helping community leaders heal from collective traumatic experiences. When they are healthy and empowered, they can better serve others.
Helping the whole person
It's difficult to focus on therapy if you're hungry. And therapeutic care without a spiritual foundation won't bring lasting transformation. We focus on physical, emotional and spiritual needs to heal the whole person.
Healing For Israel
We are bringing Healing for Israel by offering trauma care therapy to the pastors, leaders, soldiers and people of Israel who are suffering from the debilitating impact of war, death, and injury to provide true physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Our trained and screened international team of care providers will deploy to the people of the Holy Land as your generous giving provides care, person by person and family by family.
Healing for haiti
The Chanje Movement, our Haitian ministry, provides trauma care and counseling to children and families. Psychologists and social workers focus particularly on orphans who have suffered abandonment and abuse. They also provide support for families fractured by gang violence, poverty and generational suffering. They equip parents to lead out of love so that their families can stay together.
